My pronouns are she/her

I’ve been working in the creative industries since 2011. I’ve always loved music and tech, so I decided to study music production at university. During my degree, I got some work experience at a radio station and started freelancing as a live sound engineer – it was great fun (and a “cool” job to have!), but after a while I realised it wasn’t the right fit for me.

I’d never considered a career in marketing, but in the roles that followed – at a music publishing company, a magazine, and a large arts festival – I found myself gravitating towards things like content creation and social media, and offered to help with their websites.

I discovered my love of digital marketing when I joined the team at the National Centre for Writing. I managed their social media, and also worked on their rebrand and the launch of two new websites, which included an integration with Spektrix, their ticketing and CRM system.

A couple of years later, I moved to Scotland with my husband and combined my love of music and marketing at Scottish Opera. After listening to Kate’s talk on website accessibility at the AMA’s Digital Marketing Day in 2019, I was inspired by Supercool’s ethos and eagerly reported back to the team with what I had learned. My focus then shifted from general marketing to web development and ticketing, working with the developers to integrate the company’s first in-house ticketing and online fundraising system with the website.

So, from this rather winding journey, I’ve discovered that I love learning new things, working with people to find solutions, and helping arts organisations get the most out of their digital experiences.
