I founded Supercool in 2004, during the final year of my Graphic Design degree course. Starting an agency allowed me to be selective about the sort of projects I took on. So, right from the start we worked with artists, galleries, and theatres – from branding and design projects, through to building websites.
Back then, the world had only just been given the means to start designing the web. With fewer tools than we have now, creating distinctive, usable design was all part of the challenge. Now the web has matured, the challenges have changed – with the introduction of responsive design, and a greater focus on performance and accessibility.
As Supercool has become more digitally-focussed, my role has changed. I now work more closely with clients, helping them to identify challenges; then resolve them with the great-looking, highly-functional solutions created by our design and dev team.
