What if 10% more of your ticket sales came through mobile?

Selling tickets online should be mobile-first, by design

Selling tickets online should be mobile-first, by design. Why? Because most visitors to cultural websites access them on a mobile device.

Stats from recent Supercool launches

We looked at 5 websites we've launched recently, which all have reliable pre- and post-launch tracking. And (without editing that list!), we saw a consistent upward shift in the share of transactions coming via mobile on those new websites compared with the sites they replaced:

  1. Worthing Theatres and Museum: +15%

  2. Royal Court Theatre: +13%

  3. Donmar Warehouse: +11%

  4. Watermill Theatre: +10%

  5. Pavilion Dance South West: +2%

All 5 websites saw a positive shift, with an average uplift of 10.2%.

How do we do it?

Improving ticket sales on mobile isn't about investing in complex, fancy features. And it's not about spending loads of time and money on in-depth data analysis.

It's about identifying the biggest blockers that impact the largest numbers of users, then fixing them, methodically.

We're talking about things like:

  • Layout bugs on smaller screens
  • Page speed and performance on mobile connections
  • Clarity of labelling within limited screen space
  • Showing people the information they need at the right point in their journey

Even seemingly small issues can compound pretty quickly when they're the things your users actually hit, time after time 😤

The good news is that the 'compounding' works the other way too!

Every small fix or tweak removes one more reason for a user to abandon their basket. And those small improvements compound just as quickly. Plus, because these improvements are generally quite minor, they tend to be reasonably quick and inexpensive to make – so your return on that effort and investment can be surprisingly large.

The bottom line

A smoother mobile purchase path means more people will reach the end of it.

Which could make a meaningful difference to your ticket sales.
