Fashion show
We’ve just put together a dual purpose website – degree show and portfolio – for Birmingham City University’s Fashion Retail Management graduates.
The website we built for them last year (www.eclectic-07.co.uk) was hugely successful, making it quick ‘n’ easy for potential employers to contact the students – more than three-quarters of whom got jobs within just 8 weeks of leaving university. Pretty good going.
We’re hoping to help launch the careers of even more graduates with this year’s site: www.fused08.com
The business of storytelling
Meta-Learning Solutions are developers of an innovative technique, helping organisations (and individuals) to problem-solve using stories. Their website – often the first point of contact for potential clients – needed to demystify this new, somewhat indeterminate concept, making it understandable, approachable and logical.
We worked with Meta-Learning Solutions stage by stage to ensure that both the structure and tone of the website are just right, and that it has all the functionality required (no more, no less) to keep things simple, yet informative and usable. Like most of the websites we build, it’s content-managed so the company can update it themselves, meaning the site can quickly and easily grow with more advice, events and blog entries. So, it’s not quite ‘The End’ ...
Bright SPark
Recently we’ve been working on loads of promotional collateral for the soon-to-be-built Bristol & Bath Science Park. Some bits are still in progress but we thought we’d show you the website to give you a flavour of what we’ve been up to: www.s-park.org.uk. More on this as it happens!
Cats and dogs
Nothing to do with weather, everything to do with pets. Literally. Our latest logo is for Pet Depot, a soon-to-be-launched online pet supply store where you’ll be able to ‘pamper your pet for less’. There are three endearing little characters – who we’ve found ourselves calling Patch, Whiskers (pictured) and Squeak – all created in a simple drawing style, meaning it’ll be fairly straightforward to add extra creatures as they’re needed in future; perhaps a rabbit, a goldfish ... a tarantula?!
There’s more about Pet Depot here in the work section.

We’ve just got printed copies of the Membership document we designed for Audiences Central (the region’s audience development agency for the arts); it’s the first of a whole raft of documents we’re producing for them - along with a bit of brand refreshment - and it’s turned out grand!
This one needed to be an easy-to-understand showcase of Audiences Central’s newly structured membership packages, highlighting the many benefits of each as plainly and as clearly as possible; which we did using a simple, consistent layout with carefully planned typography.
This meticulous design plus swanky yet subtle use of spot uv on the cover has resulted in a very attractive document ... so come on West Midlands arts organisations! Request your copy from Audiences Central today!
